Last night was my first Rangers game as a married man. It was fun we had a good time. The game though was an interesting, probably some of the best Rangers ball I've seen so far, unfortunately it was all for not. I think part of it lays on the shoulder of Ramon Vasquez, how did he miss that ball while in the shift on Travis Hafner, BAD PLAY. I was excited that the Rangers came back and scored some runs in the bottom of the inning. I felt like the bottom of the line up had something to prove at the plate tonight, 6 of the first 7 hits were from the bottom of the line up. I wasn't impressed with Laird's home run, because he was trying to hit it his entire AB. Typically that's not to bad, but in that situation, runner at 2nd, 2 outs, all we need is a base hit to score the runner. Homerun is better obviously but he should have let that be an accident, not his primary decision. This team really needs number 10, he is their true leader and a force to be reckoned with in the 2 spot. Kenny was VERY unlucky last night, but he'll bounce back. And BOOOO Tex, I got some crazy looks last night, but I did boo him at every at bat. The other thing that concerned me is the owner, why can't he stay past the 8th inning. No wonder fans don't stay, why would they. Mark Cuban would be good for baseball because he doesn't just write the checks, he invest in his teams both on and off the court.
We did see the wave last night, and I HATE THE WAVE. Ok I don't hate it, but I hate how missused it is. Why are we doing the wave during a Rangers' AB? First of all once the Rangers score the wave will die for the night not to return till the next day. Do it when the other team is batting, if you decide to do it. Second let's create noise and excitement from what is going on down on the field. When there is a full count let's make some noise, when your pitcher is doing a great job, make some noise. The wave is fake, make some real noise.
